As of November 2026, around 125 senior investment migration professionals are meeting in Buenos Aires for IMI Connect Buenos Aires, held from 2 to 4 November. It is the first time the event has come to South America, and it arrives as Argentina's newly announced citizenship-by-investment programme draws growing international attention.
Organised by Investment Migration Insider (IMI), the gathering is the 10th edition of IMI Connect, a series that has run since Lisbon in 2022. It is a deliberately small, off-the-record format, with no booths, paid speakers or sales pitches, and it is closed to media and government representatives. The programme opened with a welcome reception at Hipódromo Palermo. Today's private discussions take place at La Rural, followed by dinner at Palacio Paz, and the event closes on 4 November at Yacht Club Puerto Madero.
The host country is expected to feature prominently in conversations. On 2 October 2026, Argentina's government announced a programme built on a US$350,000 non-refundable Treasury contribution, with a target launch in the fourth quarter of 2026. The programme is not yet open to applications. As of 1 November, the detailed implementing rules had not been published, and opposition bills to ban the scheme are pending in Congress.
Joseph Boll, founder of Frederick Capital, a boutique consultancy, is attending. He described the opening evening as a welcome chance to catch up with old friends and meet new colleagues, with the substantive discussions taking place today.
